This book is the first Sonsorol State islands storybook written in Sonsorolese. It is an effort initiated by the Sonsorole State Women’s Association, Dini Faruya, in collaboration with the Youth of Sonsorol State. The main goal of this initiative is to provide for youth participation in cultural preservation and continuity through storytelling.
This project was made possible through the Office of the President of the Republic of Palau, Indiant Grant for Youth Program, funded by the Government of India. Period of the project was June 1 – Dec 31, 2016.
It is the goal of SSWA-Dini Faruya to continue our effort in cultural preservation of our culture through various media and practices.
